INQ28 - Der Grinch

-- Grimdark Xmess --

... and a short christmas story.

>> You better watch out! You better not cry! Better not pout, I'm telling you why... Coenrad Waltz is coming to town!
>> He's making a list and checking it twice... gonna find out who's naughty and nice! Coenrad Waltz is coming to town!
>> He sees you when you're sleeping and he knows when you're awake! He knows if you've been bad or good... So be good for the Emporer's sake!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks for looking! I will be back in 2015!

-- Update!

euansmith suggested to make a Krampus sidekick to accompany Waltz on his rounds. Kinda creepy, but I like the idea! Maybe next year.

Until then...

INQ28 - The Good Lad

-- Unlucky Servitor --

My entry for YakTribe Competition 4 ...

"Grimwork, take that unstable heavy plasma somewhere else to fix it, would you? Good lad."
- trollmeat

>> Without a word the servitor began to move. No complaining, no facial expression, he did not even nod ...

grimwork - unlucky servitor with Multi-melta

Thanks for looking!

-- Update!

The Competition is closed now. All entries can be found HERE - Go, see for yourself!

NECROMUNDA - The Ash Wastes (part 1)

-- The Road belongs to the Mad --

Stop! Hold on! Before you read further, check out this article on the leadpile. Another very helpful and inspiring post can be found on Meltaburn. I really recommend you to take some time and have a look!

And of course, the trailer of Mad Max: Fury Road had a high impact on this too: Vehicles in Necromunda!

Armoured Car "Oldie" with Heavy Stubber (WIP).

"The Scout" - A reconnaissance car (WIP).

I'm still not sure, what rules I'll be using. Ash Wastes looks good, uncertain about Gorkamorka. Something more streamlined or simplified could be a possibility. Any suggestions?
Considering to the Ash Waste rules, the established Chimera, a tracked heavily armoured vehicle (300 Credits) with two Heavy Bolters (360 Credits), one Driver (50 Credits), two Heavies (120) to fire the weapons and a Boss (120 Credits) would cost 950 Credits (at least).

Fair enough:

The Chimera (PIP).
Still figuring out what to do here. Let me know what you think!

INQ28 - Death of an Inquisitor (part 1)

-- The dark fate of Dante --

I'm not sure if you can actually call the life of a servitor, a life. That's why I consider him dead. At least for now...

First WIP.
Sentenced to "Servitude Imperpituis".

The arm with the multi-melta is magnetized. Maybe I change the weapon later to something more Inq28.

-- A new challenge --

YakTribe Competition 4 is up and running! Here is the Criteria - Make a figure based on your own or another forum users name, it can be any special character, gang warband member, special, heavy, hired gun etc. but must be a single 28mm miniature. Interesting. So I had to scavenge my bitzbox this weekend and found:

This Servitor and...
... a priest.

Both pretty crippled (in a wild Inq28 conversion madness). I'll be the boring guy, making a model based on my own forum name. Still not decided yet. The servitor or the priest?

The servitor is my favorite so far.
The priest got the shotgun from an old version of Colonel Straken.
Luckily I found one of his earlier arms. Never liked the standard, it always looks wrong on the original model in my opinion. Still some work to do here.

Dante and another servitor.
Group display.

Which one should I take? Let me know what you think!

INQ28 - Look into the Past (part 2)

Previously on Look into the Past...

-- A fight with light --

>> The dark past of Wernher von Kraut! Desolate times and a weird obsession.

"Alright you soulless metal monsters, prepare to eat Imperial Plasma death! Fire 'em up boys!
It's about to get hot!"

- Wernher von Kraut
(Thanks to euansmith for that quote!)

Now. Part two...

-- Death of an Inquisitor --

>> It's easy to confuse genius and insanity, a little push and there's no turning back. Even the greatest heroes of mankind fall, when that line is finally crossed. "They shall all burn", Dante whispered. His followers didn't know what he meant, they couldn't and Dante knew neither. The shadow that constantly slipped on the edge of his gaze, claimed his whole attention. "Burn them all", He said - and so did Dante.

Inquisitor Dante is losing his mind.
Nathan and Ambras are trying to stop him.

>> Insubordination. A serious offense against imperial law - punished with death or worse. But when things went wrong and Dante started to slaughter his own men, Nathan and Ambras had no choice and tried to stop him.

"They shall all burn!"
"No, you unclean spirit! Tell me your name, demon... I will cast you out! Where is Dante?"
"In here. With us. Fool, you're going to die!"
"Wrong! You will die here, heretic!"

>> It was Ambras who took him down - With an elegant move he cut Dante's knee and drove his sword deep into the back of the screaming inquisitor - But Nathan delivered the crucial blow. Without a word he stepped in front of Dante, silently praying for the soul of his lost master. He kept his laser pistol ready and when he was close enough to see the twisted eyes of the mad inquisitor, he shot him in the face with no further warning, finaly ending his rampage...

... to be continued!

NECROMUNDA - Challenge completed! The Results and a Bonus

-- The Results --

So, it's over...

With ClockworkOrange's "The Bridge" at the top spot, closely followed by Gorkamunda's "The Gauntlet", my entry "The Hatch" was voted for the third place. I can hardly tell what a great challenge that was and I'm very happy with the results! Some tough choices had to be made, all of the entries were just stunning! Thanks to all involved and everyone supporting. Especially to djmothra and Malo from YakTribe Gaming.

Thanks for making this happen!

-- Bonus Round --

I gave myself a little break, but I've managed to get this "small guy" finished:

The small guy - A wyrd with minor powers.
Stay tuned! This won't be the last thing you've seen from my work...

NECROMUNDA - Challenge completed!

-- A dangerous place --

I've done it! Exactly in time. To be precise, there are even a few hours left until deadline. The entries I've seen so far are very good and I'm curious what's next. So, let them come! If you're interested (or have no clue what I'm talking about), check out this thread: YakTribe Competition III!

And now... ladies and gentlemen. I'm proud to present you:

"The Hatch"!
Death from behind? - If you've read my first post, then you should be familiar with this picture.
The sewer entrance.
... suffering from decay.
The entire model.

Things I used: Styrodur or Styrofoam, Spackling Paste, bits from GW's Space Marine Tanks and some other parts, a Servo-Skull, a mean rat, sand, some slate stone and a plastic cap from a coffee to go.

Techniques: Lots of shading and drybrushing.

Thanks for looking and wish me luck!

NECROMUNDA - Challenge accepted! (3)

-- The Hatch --

Some progress here, but hopefully this is my last post before the entrance is finished. Time is running out! The model is plastered, primed and now I am working on the details, but there is still a lot to do. I made a few pictures of the work in progress, but most of them suck. If you're still interested, here are some more WIPs.

This is what I made today:

Sewer entrance, rat and servo-skull. Pretty rusty.

The Hatch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

NECROMUNDA - Challenge accepted! (2)

-- Rohbau. The shell. --

Quick update:

To hide the bunker it was built deep into the underground, right underneath the sewer system. A heavy bombardment has exposed the hatch. But perhaps it was just time and natural decay, who knows... On the street level there is still the former acces point to be seen.

Thanks for looking! Comments?

NECROMUNDA - Challenge accepted! (1)

-- Make an Entrance! --

The mission: YakTribe Competition III

My secret plan is to build a hidden bunker entrance. The finished model should be modular, because I like the idea of being able to use the different parts individually. In this manner the entrance is also easier to paint. Anyway, here are my first results:

First Step. Gathering Parts.

The "antagonist" - a mean rat.

Lurking on a sewer pipe.

The "protagonist" - Servo-Skull exploring the entrance.
Death from behind or...

... escape at the very last second?

The next step will be a kind of cave or abandoned building where the entrance is located. Let me know what you think!
